White House Cottages
In these Watercolour and Pen studies, I aimed to capture the captivating character of these five converted 18th-century farm buildings, focusing on their distinctive pink stone walls, mint green woodwork, and the charming details that make each of these holiday cottages unique. I wanted to convey the architectural integrity of these former farm buildings and the welcoming atmosphere they now offer, adding details along the way of the countryside life like climbing plants, hanging baskets, and a vintage tandem.

Motherland
Great West Gallery, Brentford
In 2022 I had the privilege to be a part of an inspiring project, 'Motherland', by Great West Gallery, I was commissioned to create a series of large charcoal pieces depicting areas of England in the 1960s. Motherland.

This exhibition challenged prevailing images and stereotypes of first-generation British Asian women, which despite decades of multicultural education and celebrations of cultural diversity, persist in popular culture, educational literature and everyday life.

Coastguard Cottages, Suffolk
In this atmospheric study combining watercolour and ink, I captured the rugged beauty of these National Trust cottages beneath a brooding sky. The row of whitewashed buildings stands proudly against dramatic storm clouds, their slate roofs and neat chimneys creating a strong horizontal line in the composition.
This commission was created for an Anniversary, these cottages were a place this couple would also visit in local walks and reminded them of time spent together. In preparation for this, I visited the site and created some quick sketches which was used to aid the final piece.

The Generals Quarters, Shropshire
In this commission, I combined watercolour, ink, and acrylic to capture this iconic Tudor-style building. This focuses on the Generals Quarters in Shropshire. I combined this stunning architecture against the Welsh mountains with some white feathers floating in as it was personal element. I loved working on the house and mirroring the striking black and white timber-framed architecture.

This commission was a Birthday present, the location marks a special place in the families lives as they would often go away and for a holiday in Shropshire. As this commission blended different sceneries into one place, I first created a digital collage which was sent to the client to decide on the best composition before moving forward.
